Version 2.90 is an experimental release that provides support for storing user information in a Postgresql database. If you do not intend to use the Rad User Manager with a postgresql backend please download version 2.11
instead.
Change Notes for Rad User Manager 2.11
Version 2.11 is an intermediate release in the process of adding postgresql compatibilty to the user manager. This release concentrates primarily on bug fixes and code level changes that add to the flexibility of the product.
- Bug Fixes.
- IP capture
- In previous versions the IP address was not been correctly recorded at time of user sign up. This issue has been fixed.
- Newsletter preference bug fix
- It was reported that newsletter preferences were not been properly updated in previous versions.
- Delete user bug fix
- The delete user functionality of the admin area failed to function as expected in version 2.xx due to code
from a development branch been accidentaly merged into the release branch. This has been resolved.
- Other Changes.
- Refresh user list
- When a new user was added the list of users being displayed on the left frame did not refresh. Several users pointed out that it would be convinient if this frame was refreshed and it has been accomodated.
- Database schema modification
- The users table in the database has been modified to accomodate stronger password hashes.
- Code Level Changes
- Code level changes that does not directly effect the functionality have been made to make the produce easier to extend and to make the migration to postgresql easier. The most noticable changes were on the get_email() and is_valid() methods. Refer to the api documentation for details.

- Feature Enhancements.
- Save session information in a database
- Session information can now be saved in a database instead of being saved in files on the server. This change makes it possible for websites powered by Rad User Manager to be load balanced across multiple servers. In shared hosting enviorenments it is considered to be slightly more secure to save session information in a database than on the hard disk.

- The Rad User Manager 2.00 is now covered by the Mozilla Public License.
